Clove, originating from the flower buds of the evergreen tree Syzygium aromaticum, is a spice renowned for its unique characteristics. Harvested in their immature state, the lilac buds undergo a sun-drying process. The resulting whole cloves appear as small reddish-brown spikes, usually around 1 cm long, featuring bulbous tips. Known for their versatility, cloves can be used either in their entirety or ground, imparting a remarkably strong taste and fragrance to various culinary creations. Additionally, cloves contain around 2% triterpene oleanolic acid.
